Issues with my blog

Hi everyone!
I am still having issues loading my page of my blog.I have tired my best to try and solve it but to no avail....Sometimes, only the title and header appears....my counter has also disappeared.

The blog is up and running but you have to bear with me please as it is a bit different from blogger and I am learning slowly how to manaqe it.Plus I am super duper busy...I am running against time, but, I am running...

Hi Everyone!

What's up guys? I still cannot upload my blog via Internet Explorer, so I am using it via Firefox. Traffic to my blog has slowed down drastically, which means, anyone using IE is indeed experiencing problems.

Anyway,I have already put up my typepad blog and I am trying to work my head around it. Though there are a few similarities with the settings and layout, typepad is different.Blogger seems so much easier but maybe I am used to it. So, pretty soon, I will have to say good bye to this blog I love so much and start afresh on Typepad. I will put up a link and I hope from the bottom of my heart that my followers will follow me there as well...I will keep a message at the top of my blog.

Now, coming on to Smirk Range. I am totally in love with this range. I found them to be pretty, cute, stylish, yummy. You want to eat them, they are so cute. I have made a video tutorial using them.Enjoy!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all keeping well. I have been under the weather with a cold/hay fever but I am all good to go now. I have been very annoyed with my blog recently since I couldn't load the page. I have Firefox now but I am also working on a new blog. So, bear with me.

Panic in Blogland...

Hi everyone!
I have not been able to load my pages since a few days. It was frustrating and also, I was so scared that I have lost all my projects.

One of my friends asked me to download firefox and try opening my blog with it, so did I , and it is working. Basically, it is not being loaded on Internet Explorer so I believe anyone who has Internet Explorer should be having the same problem. And I didn't know until I received emails from friends saying they can't load my webpage of my blog.

Anyway, this is why I have not been around...now, it is time to decide...Do I upgrade to typepad or not? This is the question...I am thinking about it and meanwhile,I am going to try and load my blog via Firefox. So , sorry if you do not hear from me anytime soon.

I will try my best...

I am so confused right now so I don't even know what to say to you guys...I never expected to have this type of problems. But don't give up on me as I haven't given up on you!!!!

I am going to also give online classes....more info as soon as I can..

Dimension Fourth

Hi there!

Hope you'll doing fine! Remember I told I have some rather exciting news but I couldn't tell you...? Well now I can! I designed some stamps for Dimension Fourth. You surely have heard about Dimension Fourth!There was a Stamping Essential Magazine which came FREE with the Papercraft Essentials Magazine(Issue 41)and you can read all about Aly Higginbottom , the co-owner of Dimension Fourth. She also demonstrates on Create & Craft TV.

It was lovely working with Aly and Roy. They have been very supportive.Further more, they have cute stamps, made from very good polymer, for many occasions. They also have an online stamping project club so check them out HERE.

Here are the stamps and as soon as they will be up on the DF website, I will let you all know, but meanwhile, why not take a browse and let your imagination runs wild!

Anyway, let me know what you think and I would love to see what you make out of these stamps...If you have any requests for any specific type of stamps, let me know..I will see if I can design them for ya'.

Anyway, I have a few things lined up for you girls. I know I have not updated my blog a lot recently but I did warn you all that I am very busy at the moment. But I have realised I can also pre-scheduled some posts and thought , wow , this is fantastic..I can keep my blog alive even if I am away.So cool! I will work something out pretty soon, which means , even though you will see new posts, it doesn't mean I am posting it at that very time.So please forgive me if I do not get back to your comment or email straight away, but you all know eventually I will. Hi everyone!
Hope all is good with all of you. Quick update:I have been super busy lately with work. I've been doing nothing but work work work and this long week end is going to be another busy one with birthday party to go to and friends coming over and what not! But , I will try to squeeze in my crafts somehow somewhere.Going to voice over a video in a bit...

Anyway, even though I hate the fact I cannot craft as much as I want, I love the buzz of being busy.I get very tired though - no gym or whatsoever, no time! But at least, my mind is busy and I don't have to think of the whys of so many things.

My heart goes out to my friend Laura who lives in Mexico. Laura you must be going through a difficult time as even though the swine flu hasn't reached your area and hope it will not, I know you are stressed about it. I watch the news everyday and the update does not sound too good. Some people has got it in the UK and there has even been a school closure so far. It is worrying but, let's have faith it will not be any more dramatic than what it is now. My heart goes out to those who died from this. Like it was said on the news, many people died from seasonal flu in the UK. When I first came to the UK in february couple of years ago, I had such a nasty flu and I knew then, that, the flu u might catch over here is not the flu I would get back home.Here it is really really bad.

And I have been sick mostly around winter time and I have never felt like this before, from flu.So I guess, yeah, I am worried about the swine flu as no matter where I am, if there is a break out of flu, I get it. So , could this reach me? But my husband said I should not worry about the ifs...by the way, its time for BBC news...Catch you guys laterrrrrrrrrrz.

200 Subscribers on Youtube!:)

Hey guys, guess wot! Ive got 200 subscribers now on youtube! My 200th subscriber is buncobuddy and I did promise myself that if, IF, one day I do reach 200 subbies, the 200th one will receive a handmade card from me, anyone from my blog, or a specialised and personalised one. I honestly was not expecting that many subscribers.

I started making videos to prove a point to myself that I can do it after I have taken a 2 hours course at work on windows movie maker. Then , when I started, I was not confident and found it to be more of a hassle than anything.But I have had so many positive feedback, and encouragement , among which were from Cazzy and LazyKay:) that I carried on and then more and more positive comments came my way. The more comments I had, the more eager I was to make the videos.

It takes time to make, yes, on youtube its only ten mins, but when I actually make them, it takes longer and then I edit them.I am not very good at making them in one go. And to publish them on my PC takes about one hour or more and to then upload on youtube is another couple of hours...Okay fair enough when its being uploaded I can get on with other things, but, I still have to check whether it has failed and stuff and when it is finally uploaded, then I have to watch it again to add any notes ect...Anyway , I do enjoy making them so, I hope you do enjoy watching them as much as I do while making them.

Hi everyone!
Wot's up with you guys? Im not too bad, very very super busy right now.There are so many things going on and I find myself starting a project, leaving it unfinished to start a new one, lol! Anyway, lots of things happening in my life as well, busy as I have never been. I have exciting news coming up as well, but I really cannot say much right now but as soon as everything has been set up and running, I will let you guys know:)'too bad for those who are curious hey!'lol

I have two video tutorials just sitting in my desktop, about 4 projects ready to be uploaded, but I haven't found the time yet and this week is another busy week.So, bear with me okay? I know you will as you lorve my blog anyway!

I am going to add the Art Journal tutorial which took ages to be uploaded but in the end, I did it.

I have edited again to add a picture of inspiration. I am actually smiling as to how this art journal has raised so many questions and curiosity...:) This is ME and nopes, I am not from Saudi Arabia.I was born and raised in an island but I have travelled...and I am now in the UK.

Hey everyone, how you're doing?!
First of all, thanks for your comments on my new look for my blog. I designed my header myself and now that I know how to do that, I am planning to design another header and make it more 'ME'. And also, Im chuffed to see that some of you have realised that my video quality is much better now.I have got an Everio JVC and it is fantastic. But I must also add that my desk was found in a corner of the room and the lighting was not great..so that is why my last two or three video was dark. But I did say I was working on it and now I am happy with it.

Anyway, on to the more exciting news. I have been to a first craft club tonight and it was so nice, relaxing and interesting.I met a new friend, who does not live too far away from me, and who loves crafting as much as I do, Fehmi, Im so happy to have met you:)

The craft club is awesome...I can see myself going again and everybody is so friendly.I loved it.If you live in East London and would like to know more about this craft club, send me an email and I can give you more details and info.

Carousel Note (Card request)

Hi everyone, what's up!

I have made another video tutorial yesterday and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. The watercolour technique just amazing. Even though I keep saying that oil painting is my best medium, I have also liked water colouring since high school.

Anyway, I have used Carousel note from Stampin up, the sentiment is from the stamp set 'simply said' , by stampin' up and ribbons also from stampin up. My watercolour pencils, I bought them at WHsmith(don't you love WHsmith?- I do!) and my water brush...hmm, I can't remember but you can get it at any good craft store. If you have any questions, please just ask.

Hi everyone!:) What's up!!!I have finally been able to upload this video and it took me ages, when I say ages, I mean ages. I have managed to get rid of the two black chunky lines which were on the sides of my videos.Thanks to Brickshot 7 , a youtuber(if that's what you call someone on youtube), who is brilliant with technologies.Check him out if you want to learn the tricks of the trade.And he is also very helpful.So thanks to him I have managed to upload my video in a widescreen mode(otherwise everything looks squashed) and yeah, so I hope you will enjoy this video tutorial.

I have used tempting turquoise cardstock, tempting turquoise and basic black ink from stampin' up and Ultimate crafters companion embossing board, scallop punch, All oval stamp set, Oval punches.And the sentiment is by My sentiments exactly but It was a gift given to me, so I am not sure if these alphabet stamp set is available in the UK, but I love the 'elegant' font of this set.

Anyway I am uploading another video shortly and it was a request from one of my faithful visitor on youtube:) I have a few other requests and hopefully I will get to make them, as , I am on holiday but many things have been lined up.I have also planned to rest as much as I can as this is what I need right now.But, the fact that I am at home, and not much to do, I am taking things slowly, one at a time and I feel really good to be able to indulge in my Craft world and forget all my worries. Crafting is so therapeutic that I think everyone should be crafting!!!

Oh, by the way, my blog is having another make over...I go through my moments where I do not like what I see anymore...but some months down the line, I bet I will not like the new one too, so bear with me.And thanks for visiting me today.

Hi everyone!
Wot's up?! I was very disappointed today when the weather changed again, it was a bit cold in the morning...then in the afternoon, the bright sunshine was out again:) Eventhough I do not like the heat, I always had an issue with heat, this year, I am waiting so eagerly to the full sunshine that I will be very down if we dont get any proper summer in the UK this year.
Anyway, I will be on two weeks Easter break and I already have so much things to do...I just know the time will fly by, so I gotta make full use of these times.Anyway, I found a very funny video which I want to share with you...however I will also say, my family and friends always say I have a rather 'weird' sense of humour. I do not think so ,as I actually thinnk, 'they' have a 'weird' sense of humour as they laugh at me, when I do not expect them to and they are serious when I expect them to laugh, how about that!!!
Anyway if you find this video funny, if you share my sense of humour please comment so I know I am not the 'weird' one...and if I do not get any response, then it means, I am the odd one, sniff sniff!

I'm loving the sunny weather at the moment.It feels so good to leave my coat behind and walk in the warm breeze....it reminds me of a beautiful island...I'm so looking forward to warm,or even hot weather.It's the first time in my life I am so looking forward to hot weather.it must be the fact that we have winter for far too long in the Uk.
Anyway Happy Easter to everyone who is celebrating.Don't forget to send me Easter eggs.I prefer plain chocolate ones:).

I am still working on exporting MOD files to MPG, so that I have an extended video , rather than a squashed like one. Hopefully I have worked out the 'formula' and my next video should be better.Also, I will try and keep up the good resolution of an MOD file...so better quality of video should be achieved.And lastly, my sister promised to give me a day light desk lamp, so clearer video? I pray she reads my blog so she knows, I have not forgotten her promise to me(duh! it is about crafting, how can I forget, hahaha!)

Hi everyone!

I am not sure if anyone is reading my blog anymore as I am not even updating at the moment. I am going through a very difficult time , health wise.I have had so many emails asking me about it , so I have decided to tell you what I know is going on right now.

I find it hard to talk about since I am still in an 'unknown' zone myself except for the fact that for the last two years, I have had a low glucose in my blood(very low) and no one picked it up.I will not start blaming my GP as most of the times I visited my GP, there was a new one there, so it would be hard for them to understand who they are dealing with.
But anyway,I have already collapsed two times and once in those two times I was on my own, and at first I thought I was going to be sick. I was lying down in bed, so I got up and went to the bathroom.Then I started to sweat, I was shaking and I collapsed. I must have been on the floor for a few minutes and when I woke up, I was shivering and I was cold as ice.It was in the middle of the night and my family was sleeping. I had no energy to call anyone.At that time, I thought of my mum, who once said to me, if you are alone and you are sick, or fainting or wotever, you have got to gather yourself up and do something for yourself.Because I was leaving home when I was 19 to go to Uni abroad, my mum was always worried about me.
So I remembered what she told me and managed to got up, and dragged myself in the kitchen to drink something. When I look back, I don't even know how I have done that. I also managed to go upstairs again, but it took me ages to get there.Once in my room, I just went to bed, feeling as though, I was outside my body(weird feeling I know!).
But the next mornning, I was fine.I was even wondering if that was only a nightmare!!But when I saw my glass of water next to my bed, I confirmed it wasn't!Then, after a few days, it happened at work....that feeling of going to be sick si so awful.But the feeling of losing control of your own body is worst. That was when I knew something was wrong. I did associate this with my PCOS but my blood test result revealed that besides the PCOS, there is this low glucose issues.
And, it is taking a lot of time before I can see a specialist to help me....too long.I am trying to get an earlier date of appointment...
So for now, I am just taking each day as it comes. Now, everything is so much clearer to me. I always used to wonder, why I was feeling the way I was, over the last year or so. And sometimes when I am at the gym, I cannot work out properly if I do not take an energy drink.And why sometimes, I come home from work, and flopped on a chair and feel as though, I will never move from that chair!Some people thought I was just faking it(oh yeah, some people did think that!).I don't really care, but it hurts.Anyway, the reason I am sharing this with you today is because, I want you to know, this is how you might feel if you have a low glucose level in your blood.And, sometimes, you might even feel as though you are very light headed, and nothing makes sense to you, in other words, you are just confused. And , do not let anyone tell you that the pain you are feeling , is not that painful, or the diziness you are getting is not diziness...You live with your body , you know your body.When a few months ago , I was told my blood result was fine, I didn't insist with the doctor.He said I was simply tired and gave me vitamins!

But the last time I went, when the doctor showed me my blood test results over the last two years(there were 6 blood tests result) on the computer screen, where the Low glucose has been highlited in red and called for attention, I just stared blankly at him.

I have no energy to query why someone neglected to take care of this.I have some energy right now to only try and sort it out.The doctor only said it is related to diabetes.This is fine too(well not really!), but what should I do? Meanwhile, how do I cope?
So, my appointment is in a months time, and all I can do is try and cope.I feel worst as the days are going by but I have good and bad days. My sister told me that all this is happening because I am turning 32 this year! I didn't understand what she meant, she explained that, when you hit 30, that's it, you start growing old and getting all sorts of complications...It then occured to me that she is turning 30 , so I think , she is having a middle age crisis, the fear of growing old. I don't blame her, i felt like that when i was 29! but , 32 is young! Isn't 32 the new 20 or something? And I have been through so much with my health, that nothing really bothers me.All I want is to try and sort it out, ASAP, so I can get on with life.

So, here is my story and I do hope that you will understand me. I am determined to keep trying and do some stuffs to keep my mind off things anyway. But after a week at work, I feel drained out by the week end!But I am hoping to put up a video and a card this week end, wish me luck!

I am still around...

Hi everyone!

I just thought I would drop a few words today as I know I have been having more visits and comments while I was away.I would like to thank you all for that. And I love the emails where you guys asking me when I will be posting again soon..as It really melts my heart to know you care.

But however, I guess, I do not have great news.I know some of you will be very disappointed to know that I am not going to blog anytime soon. I mean , Mary, you asked me if I will blog next week and also for all of those who are asking me if I am okay and stuff....Well,no, I am not too good at the moment. You all know how much I love crafting and creating..you know that.But I have some health issues I have to deal with at the minute so, I cannot bring myself to craft even if I want to.I cannot go into details right now as I am still going under tests and all, but I will let you all know as soon as I have a clear-cut picture.For now, just pray I get back to be my old crafty self again.:)I think the hardest part is when I know, I have ideas buzzing in my head but just cannot put them into a project...

I miss crafting so much, I miss you all , I miss chatting, I miss blogging..and it goes on and on..I hope I will be back.

My sister came to London today and I spent a memorable day with her, at least that cheered me up. I wished she didnt have to go....but anyway, I am grateful for today, I am grateful for every minute I have on my hands...

This is the card I was talking about.I have used a plain flower chipboard and I inked it using black ink.I have then used my heat gun to speed up the drying time and also to make sure it dries up completely as I intend to emboss it.Once dried,I have stamped the surface using Hero Arts dotty stamps(with embossing ink) then I poured over pink embossing powder. Then I heat embossed to reveal this nice dotty chipboard.I like the tactile effect of this.

The base card is 4cm x 12cm.I then divided it into three equal parts to make a tri-fold card.The pattern paper is from doodlebug(I think)and the bracket chipboard is from papermania.The words are from Stampin Up.I hope you like it....This is my last card for now...until I come back:)

Hey there, I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend and keeping in good health.Okay, so, all I wanted to say was I might be away for a little while...

I already have a project which I would like to share with you.Hopefully I can do so tomorrow at some point during the day or evening.It is a tri-fold card and this will basically be the last card for now. I am sorry that I will not be updating my blog as often as I have been doing lately. Special message to all my subscribers and my regular friends , I hope you will not give up on me, as I haven't given up on you guys...Which means, I will be back, hopefully soon with more videos and projects.

I have been to do my blood test finally and apparently I might be allergic to 'gluten'.This is totally new to me so I will have to sit down and go through this and understand everything about it...but I am not sure yet since I have to wait a little bit more before the final verdict.I do not want to feel negative since I have been through a lot healthwise over the past few years...I want to be positive about it.So, if I have to go gluten free, so what? I can do that! I might shift more weight while doing so, who knows!lol.

Hey there,

Today I am going to share a card I have made and it is specially for my sister Saju, who was a bit upset with me yesterday.We were exchanging emails and I said something which made her upset.I think she said it hurt her...and I had no intention to do so.I love her more than I can explain and she said it herself that I am the 'Misunderstood Artist' as people seem to misunderstand me a lot....But however, I guess, she has been a victim this time!

I feel so sorry for myself as sometimes I say things and people take it in another way.But those who know me very well, know that, the last thing on my mind is to hurt the people I love.And Saj, I know that you already know I had no intention of hurting you by talking about DQ...and I am so sorry.I told you I was going to make a card and I made this for you...until I meet you and give it to you.It is a matter of days now before we meet and I cannot wait anymore...Love you lots and hope this makes you smile.You said that , when I will become a celebrity one day , then you will be in my newsletter...but I ain't no celebrity...(yet!lol) and I am telling you how much you mean to me on my blog and even though the whole world doesn't read it, it is coming from a yet-to-be celebrity, so you should be proud, lol!

Here is my card, I am so sorry...If you have forgiven me, you must comment on this post.I will await patiently for your respond(fingers crossed!).And yeah, you are the best cook in the world even though I haven't tasted your latest dishes yet...but I do not have to taste it to know, you are the best(is this enough to be forgiven?).

Here are all the materials I have used.I have stamped stazon(white) onto tracing paper(since I do not have vellum, but it is a good alternative, I didnt have any problem with it) , then I have embossed the petals with white embossing powder.The petals are from Technique Tuesday and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask....

When I saw this card, I fell in love with the image of that sweet girl, behind the curtain.So I asked Josefa if she could please let me know which company does that stamp as I would really like to buy one. To my great amazement, she replied and told me, this is her own drawing - How fantastic is that? I was priviledged to get a copy of the line drawing and I am not sure yet if I can use it, but I will email her in a minute and ask her.I would really like to make a card with this gorgeous image.

Time flies...

...and it scares me!

Hey everyone! I hope that all of you who celebrate Valentine day, had a good one.I do not celebrate this day as I say, everyday should be a special day, everyday your loved ones should feel you love them.But I do like to see the themed valentine splashed everywhere - sweet shops, clothes shops, food shops - I mean, even in the Maths lesson at school, the students had to do a weaved heat shaped basket, and there was some mathematical calculations involved.(I spent almost half an hour trying to work that out...Shh, do not tell anyone that I do not like maths!)

I went to my friend for tea and while talking, we were saying how time goes by so quickly and where were we last year , exactly a year ago!I was like Oh my God! They all looked at me and thought something was wrong.I told them I have just remembered that last year, on the 14th of Feb, I was in the hospital for an operation.And I was so grateful that today, I was with my friends, having a good time, and feeling happy and healthy.I am grateful for that, I really am.

Anyway, just a little note to say I will be back soon with more projects. Stay tuned!

Light Catcher...?

Hi fwendz!

Hope everyone is okay..I have a few things to share with you today.A project, an award(again!:) and some chit chats.

Okay, I know I did promise a video I was doing for my fashion Illustration club, but I didn't get the chance to upload it yet.It has been a hectic week, a lot to deal with at work and I had food indigestion yesterday.My sister gave me fish finger sandwich on Tuesday(which she cooked on Monday night) but I was not hungry, I left it in the fridge at work and ate it the next day(yesterday).By home time, I felt really sick.My belly was bloated and was aching, realling aching.I came home and had a temperature and was sick.It lasted the whole night and today, I was not hungry at all.

When I came home from work, I felt better. I ate something, and even though ,I felt funny in my belly,nothing happened.Let's hope Im going to be okay now.I thought, I will put up a project I did in December and the pictures were just waiting to be uploaded...So here we go.This is a project I have made using toilet roll cover - However, could I just say, I did NOT invent this.It is a shame that I cannot remember where I saw this and do not even remember how it is called.All I know was I thought it was a cute idea.If I find the link I will put it up.I hate it when this happens as I believe in giving credit to the person who deserves it.I have twisted this project a little bit and I do hope you will find it fun to make.

Okay , take a toilet roll inside cover and cut them into circles(about 1.5 - 2cm) wide. Then pinch at two ends to make them look like those in the picture below.There are 6 here but you will need only 5 for one finished project.

Then, I have used Anita sticky glue to apply to one side of the opened rim, then glue this rim down onto vellum paper.I am using patterned vellum here(cannot remember from which company I got this from)- I am sorry for not being able to provide more info this time!

Once the glue is dry, and the rim is stuck to the vellum, cut each one out carefully, and repeat with the other side.

Then, cut them out carefully, as closely to the rim as possible and you will end up with this.See picture below.

Okay, this pic is not very good(I wonder what happened here)...I have used Adirondack Paint Dabber to colour the sides.

Add a little bit of glue near the pointed end (on one side) of the shape and glue to another pointed end, repeat until you have a shape of a flower.And I had a matching ribbon which I threaded through and this is ready to be hung up on your window(at one point I even thought they could be funky chrismas tree decorations)...but because the vellum is transparent, this looks absolutely lovely against the window...This is why I called it 'Light catcher'.

I took the following pictures today.....

Sorry about my presentation this time! It was too late to put it against my window, and I didn't know where to hang this to take a picture..And I just didn't resize my pictures as I normally do so that all are of the same sizes! ... and didn't add watermark!!

I was trying to show you the transparency of the vellum but trust me, it looks beautiful against natural sunlight.

I thought , you are so funny and sometimes, a good laugh is all I need after a long day.

I have been tagged by Caro since a while now.I haven't been able to do the tagging because the first one is pretty scary.You have to open your photo folder, pick the sixth folder and sixth picture and tell the story behind! I dreaded doing this as I thought, what would happen if the 6th pic is one of my crazy ones?...Anyway, I didn't want to lie about this tag, so I went ahead and did it and thought, whatever happens, happens! So this is the pic I found and...hahahaha...there is no amazing story behind.I was sorting my wardrobe and decided to take pics to remind me of how I should always keep it....

Well, the obvious story is I have an obsession with roll on! Hey, I do not even know when it happened...but I have this constant needs to buy them and I keep them in my handbag, my drawer, my locker at work...Im very sad, I know!Its not like I stink or anything...Oh well!this is my story.Also, I keep antiseptic gel with me as well...sorry guys, this is a sort of OCD!hahaha.I think there are lots of germs in public places.This is only one section of my wardrobe!Imagine you see the other shelves, you will know too much about me hey! 1. I cannot live without a cup of tea.It is the first thing I will have in the morning.However, I will refuse politely if you offer me tea because, I am really really fussy about my tea.I am sorry guys but, I cannot explain how I like it. I hate weak tea, I like it strong but not too strong, hate too much milk, but do not like it too dark.I MUST have sugar with my tea.I might go withouth any chocolate or sweet treats for days, but never without sugar in my tea. My husband is the ONLY one who manages to make me a perfect cup of tea , a lot of times, but unfortunately , not always.Many times, I have had to say, sorry, I cannot have this.But, besides this, I am quite an easy person:))

2.I absolutely cannot take the heat.I would rather feel cold than hot.

3.I love with a passion, I have with a passion.All these are good feelings as when I go in the 'indifferent' mode, that's it!It is the end!

4.I have an admiration for mermaids and do believe they did exist at some point(so did the vampires)

5.I love scented candles(adore them).*hint, hint :-if you are coming to visit me from canada, yes you, you know who you are! Please bring me scented candles, lavender ones:)

Just a note to say I am having one of those bad days...It has been a bit tough this week,no energy whatsoever.Everything has been (and still is) a drag.Tis about time I go for another blood test and I have been postponing this as well!

Anyway,I will not bore you to death and I am sorry(I really am) that I am not posting anything this week.I had something I was working on so I might have something mid week.I am doing a Cardmaking club and Fashion Illustration club after school.The fashion club is to mostly teach the girls about line drawing, sketching, painting, colours...And the fashion itself, it is up to them to create.Nowadays there are so many new things that I cannot keep up with.For example , Emo kid.And my student told me about a material called 'pleather'...I am learning as much as they are.It is a fun club and I had to prepare some samples for them.I then realised that if you do not draw for a long time, that's it, you take longer to draw when you actually do - you will not forget as , I think, for me , drawing is like riding bicycle, you can never forget it, but surely you need practice to ride it perfectly!(I am talking about the principles about drawing)

So, it has been fun to prepare the samples and I did film part of it to show you. Let me share this with you.During my carmaking club, I used to put Beethoven for the girls...until one of them said: Miss I never thought you are Beethoven old! I was like: wot? She said: I never thought you would listen to Beethoven, the other girls echoed: yeah miss! we cannot believe you make us listen to this, so boring! I was like: Girls, this is supposed to be soothing, therapeutical....They all disagreed and said, too boring miss, and we just can't believe you listen to this.I was like: sorry Girls, I really wanted all of you to have the benefit of calming, and soothing effect!LOL, obviously , it didnt work, because they were more annoyed than anything.

So, I let them choose their musics , each one has a go...And some musics are not musics to me..they are more like noise.And there were a few I really liked.I told them I do not know half of the musics they were playing and one asked me, if when I go home, I will give my mommy a massage if her head was aching...I said, yes I would but I don't live with mommy anymore.So her friend said: Miss is big you know!(these girls are 11 years old)...Another one said, she isn't that big....And they kept talking about ME as though I wasn't there! Bless them!:)And eventually I told them, I am not that young, but not that big anyway.It was intersting to see how they look at you and assume you still have your mommy doing things for you, just like their mommy doing for them and stuff.So cute!I gave them a cardmaking challenge and they all did very well.They want the head teacher to be the judge and I will sort a little prize for the winner...

Anyway, that's all from me for now...

Hi there!
So how was your 'snow' day? I was happy to have a 'forced' holiday and these are some pics which I took on that Monday.I love snow!I mean I think it is beautiful.I do not really like to stand outside and play in the snow...I do not even think I will make a snowman or anything like that...or probably I would, if all my sisters were here with me in the UK!!
Anyway, my first pic is a footprint and its not mine! It is my sister's! And who said that 'we're making a fuss about the snow?'!lol...Look, this is about ..what? 4 , 3 inches?I like this pic:)

Look at this pic!!This bird.. refused to look at me.I called and called and called but he blanked me!I wonder what he is thinking about and why is he on his own!He's got attitude!I lorve this pic too!

And this is me!!Trust me when I say, I had to be careful...I am always falling so on this day, I had to be extra careful.

Anyway, so that's about it! And I know that some people are just angry about the whole snow thing.My personal opinion is, Britain was not ready for it because, this is happening after 18 years. Some were saying that UK should have made provision and get prepared for this .I think, that, will the government be ready to spend so much money(millions? billions?) to invest so that next time it happens, public transport can still run? Well, food for thoughts. However, there were about 20% who couldnt get into work and UK has lost (billions) just for that one day , as far as the economy is concerned.All in all, give the government a break!This is an unexpected happening! Someone very positive said that at least some family got to spend the day together! so lets look at the positive sides for the moment and enjoy the pics. Snow, snow, everywhere!

Hi everyone!

It has been snowing since last night and I had no clue at all...I was busy with some projects and didn't look outside even though I did filmed outside around 2pm.So last night,I was going to shower when my sister asked if I did look outside.

I looked and I was like: wow, it looks so beautiful.Then I realised, this is heavy snow. This morning, there has been a weather warning and all the bus services have been cancelled in London..so obviously no school...I do not go to school, I work in a school, LOL. So, isn't this 'forced' holiday a blessing:)I love it!I will hopefully finish my projects...and cook something nice(hmm or maybe not!).This is an unexpected holiday, so doing routine work is not really advisable! So maybe do something I wouldn't normally do!The sky is the limit.

Watch out this space for some pics later..Going to try and take some pics outside...It is too cold though!

Hi everyone!

Thanks to everyone who made that special prayer for my dad.He is not great, but I strongly believe he is getting better and will only get better from here. I have been so down today and nothing appealed to me. I have cried until I had no tears left...did you ever feel like this? You still wanted to cry, but no tears were actually coming out.So I had a long hot bath and decided to have an early night.I guess I have never ever felt so empty and lonely.I came to the conclusion that , in life, you lose something, to gain something.

So, the price to pay for living away from my parents is this:-you miss them like crazy and you feel helpless.

Anyway, enough of my moans.I was checking my youtube channel and thought that maybe the background needed to change as the cards there were for my friend who has passed away recently and everytime I look at it, it saddens me to a great extent.But on the other hand,I want them there as a memory...So while I was debating what to do, I saw my FIRST Special Gold Award...'Most viewed today!..I couldn't believe it! I am thrilled!And this is because of your support guys! A big thank you to all my subscribers,those who watch my videos, and those who leave me a comment...thanks a lot!

Today I am not going to post any card - not yet - but I would like to share this interview with you. Charli has asked me the following questions and this is how it goes:-

I spoke to Amias, one of Suzanne's closest friend and I do feel better. I know that sometimes, some people will think that virtual friendship are not like real world friendship, but I have found genuine friends in my virtual/blog land and some are even closest to me than those I see everyday!!!!So I will use this post to say thank you to all my friends, whom I have never met but who are there for me, at the touch of my keypad!Thanks everyone!

And I noticed todays word in the online Dictionary is 'Talisman'.....Well, you might think 'yeah? and so...?' Well guys, my name is Tassy but short for Taslimah. And I have had people calling me Tasliman before either to tease me, or genuinely making a mistake and asked me if my dad named me like so because of the beautiful meaning it had! So let's celebrate this word which is so similar to my real name, hahahaha.

Tribute to lovely Suzanne

Another shock today.I went to Suzanne's blog since I was thinking I haven't heard from her for a while now.I have been so engrossed with so many things recently that the last time I visited her blog was in December and left her a comment.
But today I have just realised, she is no more.She passed away on Christmas eve.

Suzanne was someone who always used to leave me encouraging comments and she always , always told me how beautiful and inspiring my blog was. When I did a card using the Kitchen Sink stamps, she fell in love with it. She loved it so much that I made a complete project to send her.This is the link to see what I have made specially for her:HERE.

I sent her everything and she was so happy to receive them.She even told me about her plan to open a gift shop, with exclusive handmade products and would like me to send her more of my creations so she could sell them for me.She really made me feel good about myself and her blog always made me laugh or smile.She was someone I have never met personally, but always felt as though I have known forever.We have planned to meet up for coffee when she visits London.

But she has passed away.I cannot describe my sadness but she was a very strong woman.She is now not here with us and I do wish she rests in peace.She will be missed terribly.I have lost a friend who did care about me, about what I had to say, about what I do....I miss you Suzanne and hope you rest in peace.

Sad truth about some people about there...

Hi everyone,

I am writing today, feeling angry and sad at the same time. I have had issues with people hacking into my emails before....but this is the very first time, someone hacked into my account, emailed nasty things to my friends on my list and also, I suppose it is the very same person who keeps leaving negative comment on my blog.The reason these comments have never been published is because, my comments are on moderation.So, I get to see the comments first, then if I want to publish them , I do so.But recently, I have had to delete some comments which were irrelevant.I really didn't allow them to bother me, as I thought, it was just one of those things to have haters.That 'person' was always telling me negative things on my videos, my blog, my cards...I thought at first they were just personal opinion, and I do believe that anyone should be entitled to their own opinion and thought, if that person doesn't like what I do, then, it is fine.But I cannot stop doing what I am doing as , against the one nasty comment, I have so many other positive comments where people like what I am doing and want to see more of my creations.

And on the other hand, I cannot stop since, I do what I do, first and foremost for myself. The blog exists because I wanted to have somewhere to keep my cards and creations, and also, I wanted to share what I do with you guys.And, my aim is not to have a crowd of admirers or anything like that. My aim is to share, to inspire and to be able to help with any questions about crafting or Art.So, even though , I have had comments like 'your blog is not interesting', it doesn't bother me.I do know that 'haters' exist and some are just jealous, others are just expressing how they feel, and by all means, do go ahead and express yourselves!I am not going to stop you all.

But, hacking my account and emailing my friends, posing as 'ME' so that to create a bad impression of 'ME' is plain dumb silly!First of all, I do not believe in swearing as , those who swear have a lack of vocabulary...this is my opinion.So for you, whoever you are, to go and email those swearings to my friends...it is so out of order.My friends knew it wasn't me...its so out of charactor.

Now I am talking to you because it is very obvious you(the hacker) read my blog - What is your problem? What is your real issue? Once you called me a 'paki' and you said you hate my blog.To start with , I am not from Pakistan and secondly, if you hate my blog, why do you bother visiting it and leaving a comment. Why do you feel so compelled to do so?Now, no matter what your problem is, all I want to say to you is: Get out of my face.I have been very patient with you.I am fed up with you and your nonsense. And get this once and for all, I am not going to stop blogging...I am not going to stop what I love the most.And this is the first and last time I am talking to you directly and I am doing so openly so you know, all my friends now know about you.And if you think you can bully me and get away with it, you are so damn wrong.

I will really appreciate if you can just leave me alone.I repeat, I will never stop blogging or doing everything you see on here.

To all my friends: I would like to apologise to you guys for my non-crafting post today as I had to talk about this since, this blog also nearly got hacked.I managed to sort it out.But my facebook account got hacked and my email has been hacked.If any of you , on my friends list , has received a 'weird' email with lots of swearings from me recently, you know it wasn't me.But everything is sorted now and this time, I have put into place a security system whereby, none of my email can be hacked, and if someone tries, their IP address can be tracked down...

Gold leaf

Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone is keeping well. As promised, here is the 'Vintage card, yet elegant'(in my opinion).I had to upload them, add the watermark and you know the story.And also, I am sorry that I have been quiet...I know that my subscribers and regular visitors would like to see some projects.Believe me when I say that, making cards and painting are things I am passionate about.But it is just that I am not feeling too good at the moment.I am hoping to do some painting this week end and will try to post them.They are part of my portfolio and also, there will be stuffs I need to do for my after school club at work.
Anyway , here we go.
These are the materials I have used and you will notice the Gold leaf on the right. I bought them a year ago and haven't used them much...I have used distress ink, glue pad, cutter kit by Stampin Up which includes the distress tool, flourish background stamp which is the 'Damask' clear stamp by Flourishes.
And also a vintage dress stamp...I cannot remember which company is this from...Right now, I really do not have the energy to find the stamp.If you would like to know drop me a comment, I will get back to you.

Okay , as far as I can remember I did take pictures of the steps when I was using the glue pad and gold leaf but for some reasons I cannot find them.Because this was back in December, I can't even remember if I saved them somewhere and what not.But I can tell you how I achieved this.It is pretty easy. I have stamped the Damask stamp with the glue pad. The glue pad comes with a spongy pad, which is new and dry.It comes with a bottle of special glue.You then need to apply the glue to the spongy pad and it is then ready to be used. So, then, I have stamped the image onto a white card which I have previously inked lightly with the distress ink.I then pick up a gold leaf(this is very flimsy, you got to be careful with it, give it much love and tenderness:)

Then apply the gold leaf onto your stamped image.Try to smooth the leaf down as much as you can, but as gently as you can otherwise you can tear it.Even though if this does happen, it is not the end of the world as you can add a piece of leaf on top of the exposed area and continue the same process.When you are happy that the leaf has been stuck down properly, take a sponge and buff over the leaf , again very gently. What will happen now is, the glued area will remain in place revealing your the design of your image.I love, love , love this.Mind you, there will pieces of gold leaf everywhere...on your fingers, your desk, your face, your hair...but they will go when you wash them.

Love it!

This is a patterned paper from.....ooops,I don't know!Can't remember!I haven't been very good this time with my tutorial, have I!So sorry...I think it is papermania...I will try and put more info in my comment section by this week end!I trimmed around the edge and this is my favourite pair of scissors by Fiskars.No one is allowed to touch this or......I can get very upset.......

This image has been stamped on acetate with staz on black ink and then on the reverse of the inked image, I have applied glue to the dress and I have used a dry brush to pick up some perfect pearl powder in Silver and Gold to apply to the dress.

I have used a gold organza ribbon to attach the acetate and the gold leaf stamped piece of card together.I used a craft knife to make two small incisions on the waistline and threaded the ribbon through.Then I have attached this to the patterned paper(inked the edge as well).

Forgot to mention that the gold leaf card has a torn edge...I have used my distress tool to distress the edge but I felt I had to add more interest to it , so I tore them and curled and turned them over .Since it has been distressed, it was easy to be rolled over.

I have finished off with some flat back sticky pearls from papermania and heat embossed (gold)the word adorable(Hero Arts)

That's all from me for now...I do hope you like this project and also, I wanted to share this with you. I have a calendar (saju gave me)with the following saying: When we find beauty in the smallest of things, it makes our sould grow-Adele Basheer.

I have always believed that , it is not the quantity but the quality that matters.I sometimes stop, and watch in wonder the beauty of the sky at sunset time....I used to find an immense pleasure, I was actually in awe, in front of the blue and turquoise lagoon and white beach back home....I sometimes can sit down quietly and watch a bird , I find this amazing.

When it rains, I find beauty in it, where are they coming from , how long have they travelled....weird , maybe, but this is something I still think about and I still like to put my hands out of my window and feel the rain..sometimes, it is a good feeling to feel the rain, rather than feeling you are getting wet and you need to rush.And, in the early morning, on my way to work, the morning dew on a freshly bloomed flower, will catch my sight and I will stop and look at it..And sometimes, I am in awe, in front of such natural beauty.I cannot describe it and I do not know if you will understand what I am saying....but this is how I feel.And yet again, I might stop infront of a window shop and admire the display, and I might be lost into my own world for a few minutes.I think, we are so busy and stressed out nowadays that we do not give ourselves the time to notice little things in life...But , I also know, maybe I am just plain weird as , sometimes, even a ray of sunshine , across my net curtain, can be fascinating as it projects an interesting pattern on my desk!!!!Maybe it is just me, or maybe, just maybe, I am a bit mad!LOL...my sister told me one day, I am the 'Misunderstood Artist'.I quite like that because, most of the times, I try to explain myself, and people totally misunderstand me or I admire something which people find absolutely normal and do not understand where I am coming from.And if you have read all of this, until this word, right here, right now...then, I must say, I am impressed!Are you not bored yet?

Im shocked and sad...

I cannot remember exactly when I came across Bev's blog(crafty moments).I know that I added her to my favourite and I intended to add her to my blog list on my own blog as soon as I have done my make over.

I always go and visit her blog as I like to read what she is up to, what she has created and she is very talented.

The other day, I read on the inlovewithstamping website that She has passed away.I wasn't sure who they were talking about but had a feeling it might be her.So, I went on her blog.Her last post was on the 18th of December where she was talking about how excited she was that christmas was just around the corner, how she wasn't ready.Then couple of previous post about her plans for January '09, how much she would love to craft everyday...ect.She had plans.And under the comment section, her dad has posted to let us know she fell very sick, and that was on the 23rd.Then, afer that she has passed away.She was only 40.I was so shocked, and I couldn't believe it.

I am still under the shock, Im feeling so down and sad and cannot express how I feel as I have never met her, yet I feel as though I have known her.At least, I understood all her excitement about cardmaking as I am as excited as her.I felt her enthusiasm as she talks about all these beautiful things she makes with such happiness and energy.She was also so funny and I just loved reading her blog.And it saddens me to a great extent.I hope her blog stays as I can never get fed up of admiring her beautiful works.

I hope she rest in peace.Today we are here, tomorrow we are gone.

Happy New Year 2009..and updates.

Hey everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well and had a fantastic time celebrating the New year.I have not been too well and not looking forward to go back to work next week:(

I would also seize this opportunity to remind all those who are concerned about the month of 'Muharram'(first month in the islamic calendar)and it is recommended that you fast on the 10th day, but it cannot be only one day, it has to be two consecutive days , including the 10th day(so either 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th).

Some of you will remember the long and agonising time when I was going through lots of medication and anti biotics just so doctors could find out why I was in so much pain(pain in my lowerback and tummy).Then I was diagnosed as having PCOS.I had an operation and everything.I did think, that was over and done with.But unfortunately, recently, PCOS is back.So , I haven't been feeling too good.I thought the new year will bring me health as the only thing I want is my health, that's all.But, I guess, I do not have any control over it.But to be honest, I can cope better as I understand clearly what it is, what are the symptoms, and I cope better with the pain, but it's just that, I do not want to even create during that time.I have my good days, and my bad days.So,I would like to apologise if I go quiet for a while.

Acetate Card

Hey everyone!It's me again.I have made this Acetate Card and would like to share with you what worked and what didn't work.And also, a few ideas about how you can make a see through card while still being able to hide the glue on the other side.

Oh before I forgot, I have finally managed to upload mini pictures (which are clickable for a bigger view I hope!) and I am going a bit mad with it.It took me ages to learn this and I must say a BIG THANK YOU to Emilia (click on her name to view her fab and cute blog)who has has helped me. This post here, I have managed to group the pictures together by resizing on Paint Shop Pro itself.My previous post, I had to upload in photobucket and when you click on it, it takes you to photobucket, and it wasn't what I wanted. Anyway, all in all, I am very happy that I have managed to work this out, but without the help of Emilia, I wouldn't have managed.

Okay, let's get started with this Acetate Card.First of all, you can buy two types of acetates, one which is the normal acetate, and the other one, though I wouldn't say it is abnormal, it is the special one that you can put in your photocopier. And the latter is smooth and glossy on one side, and rough on the other side. Now if you are planning to make an acetate card without heat embossing, then go ahead and use the 'normal' acetate which you can get in different thicknesses.I have a few acetates (normal ones) and some are thin, and some quite thick.But I cannot remember where I got them from *sorry*. But in this project, I am using the special one and I got it from a stationery shop, I just asked for Photocopy Acetate.

Then, I stamped as usual with embossing ink on the glossy side, and I have used white embossing powder and heat embossed with a heat tool. Remember to move your heat tool about so you dont scorch the acetate. Sometimes, the acetate might start to curl ever so slightly but by that time, the embossing powder should have melted anyway.

Here in the first picture, I have used a normal acetate just to show you what will happen. It doesn't work as it is not heat resistant and obviously you will not have a pretty sight, huh!Also notice how the embossing powder sticks to the acetate as the acetate is very static.

Here I have used the special acetate. It has started to curl very very lightly, but the embossing is done.It is less static but I did have to use a dry paintbrush to brush off excess of powder around the flower, inside the petals.

Comparing the two acetates here...you get the idea.

Okay, so I went ahead and stamped a flower image(by Katie & co- Flower Bud) three times, embossed and cut out. The smaller flowers are die cut using Thin Cuts(Flowers) using a Big Shot machine.I have used an embossed card (which I have embossed using the cuttlebug embossing folder) but when I have cut the flowers, the embossing flattened down as I suppose, when it gets through the Big shot, for cutting, the embossing went down.So I have 6 of the smaller flowers.

Then ,I have trimmed down a Basicgrey 'Phoebe' paper to fit about a quarter of my card from the bottom. I have punched one end with a scalloped edge punch.I have used an ATG gun to apply glue to the back of the paper. If you dont have an ATG, you can use double sided tape as you would want the paper to stick pretty good to the acetate.See picture below...

Next is another piece of patterned paper (birds)from the same Basicgrey paper pad, and I have trimmed it down a little smaller than the first piece attached to the card.

Next , I have embossed a piece of white card using the Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Textiles' and trim down so that it hides the seams of the first two layers making sure it doesnt cover everything!I then decided to show only the scalloped edge part of the green paper.

Then, I have used the same pattern paper of the Bird that I have used on the front of my card to cover the inside of the card so you cannot see the glue. All you need to do is measure the size of what you can see in the card, and trim your patterned paper and glue as usual.

See picture below.Make sure it fits properly...In my picture a tiny bit of paper from the front of the card can still be seen at the top...and you DO NOT want that.Oh , also, punch the edge of the card with your scalloped edge first then you trim down to size. I have made many mistakes in the past by measuring up first then punch out, the whole piece will get smaller as when you punch out , you use more card.

I cannot help from not doing some grouping of pictures.But lets just say, these are 'At a Glance' kinda thing!

I have attached a polka dot ribbon to match and now, adhering the flowers. I have used mini glue dots to stick the first flower but I have put the flower inside. If you look at the picture you can see the glue dots( I hope).

A close up here so you can see exactly what I mean.

Then, to hide the glue dots, I have adhered the mini flower on the front of the card, using glue dot again but making sure it hides the glue dots on the other side(inside) of the card.Repeat with the other two flowers, but instead of putting them inside, I have this time, glued them on the front of the card, and repeat the process of hiding the glue dots on the inside of the card.

I have finished off by stamping down the 'hugs and kisses' sentiment which is from the 'never a loss for words' by Kitchen Sink Stamps.

This is the inside of the card. So, there you have it!I hope you have enjoyed this and please comment if you have a minute...When I get comments, it makes my day.My husband asked me: And how do you write in this card?

I stared blankly at him and I said very confidently: Crafters will know how to write in this card, come on, be creative!!!And anyway, this card is a gift in itself, it says everything..you actually don't have to write anything!

Special Card to My Good Friend Susan

I have made this card for Susan, my friend who has lost her dad couple of days before christmas. I couldn't be with you but you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have put a tutorial together as I know you would want to see how this card came together.

I wanted to add that this fabric flower from Stampin Up was white. I have used the Classic Black ink to colour the flower in black.The flat backed pearl is also from SU and I have secured it on the the red paper flower(Prima) with a glue dot.The sentiment 'deepest sympathy' is from the set 'Never a loss for words- By Kitchen Sink stamps'.Check out the website as they have fantastic stamps HERE

Close-up of this dyed flower.The sentiment has been stamped down with embossing ink and embossed with white embossing powder.
Embossing with Stencil:-
Now, I know that the embossed paisley on the white card is not very visible on here.But this is how I have made this embossing. I know that many of you are very familiar with using a Big Shot but I am aiming to show this tutorial to new crafters as everyday we have new crafters.
Also, I am very sorry about the quality of these pictures.I don't know why I was working with my scented candle next to me.The light in my room was on but that yellowish light from my candle kind of messed up a bit with my pictures.I wanted some nice lavender scent while working(what was I thinking!).
Picture 1 and Picture 2 are showing what we are going to use.
I have used my embossing stencil to emboss here.So you will need your Big Shot machine,a multipurpose platform, a sillicone pad.Now a stencil is very thin, this is why the multi purpose platform is very useful.Anyway, you will also need your cutting plates as the multi purpose platform (MPP)is NOT a cutting plate.Don't worry, you have all the information necessary to cut, emboss on the MPP itself.

Okay, so, place your MPP in the big shot and open the top flap, as we want to use the 'Tab 2'

Then place your cutting pad on top of it

Next place your stencil on the cutting pad.Now we are going to do some layering...if you like food , then we going to make a sandwich.(I think of food all the time).

On top of the stencil, you are going to place your silicone pad. In the picture , you might see some paper under the silicone, please ignore.I did place my paper under the silicone but this is a mistake.So please ignore the white paper there.

Then take about 4 A4 copy paper , fold them in half and place these on top of the silicone pad.

And lastly place your cutting pad on top. My one has a lot of marks on it, as you can see.
That's it, simple as that! Sandwich is ready to be eaten...I mean wind through.

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is keeping well.I am good and just chllin' but too much chillin' if you know what I mean.I broke up from work on Friday and since, I haven't done any crafting.I do not have anything to inspire me that much.All I want to do is laze around....It is fine if I laze around for a day but for couple of days, then I feel unproductive.But I have tried out new recipes..among which was a roast chicken.
Anyway talking about food, my sister Saju has always enjoyed cooking and she is really good.She makes amazing/delicious food and cakes and dessert all the times.So I told her why doesn't she create a blog.As soon as I said so, she did it and she is working on it at the moment. So I would like to support her by adding her link on here very soon.If you like exotic food , then her blog will be a must for you.So watch out for that link soon.
I am making a card using the Big Shot to emboss with Cuttlebug embossing folder.It is a special card for a special person in my life.I wanted to make a black and white card but my sister told me, I MUST add a hint of red in it...I wasn't too sure...But I am working on it and taking pictures so it can be a picture tutorial.

If you read my next post , which is just below you will understand why I am in the state I am right now....On a Sunday night, instead of relaxing with a good book or magazine, I was busy editing my video since I thought I never saved it.Yet I remembered I have saved it, but when I was looking for it, I just couldnt find it....So here I am editing, and , moaning that I am spending so much time on something I have done already, but out of carelessness, never saved it bla bla bla.

Then it was ready to be saved...so I clicked on 'save as' and while typing the name 'chalking and resist technique', from the drop down menu, I saw the same title.I clicked on it and it prompted that 'a file already exists with this name, do you want to replace it?'....SO I took in a deep breath and spoke out loud to myself....okay what is this and what should I do so that I do not lose it , or lose the one I have just edited today...so I clicked on cancel..Cancel is the safest thing to do. I went back to my web cam files and looked again...and as if a miracle happened, I saw a file with this title, I clicked on it, and guess what, my dear old edited video tutorial!!!!!!So basically, I have wasted time and energy cursing myself for not saving this, I have wasted time and energy, editing the whole video again(from the original one). And meanwhile, the edited one which I did last week, has been saved but do not ask me why I didn't see it when I was looking for it this afternoon. *SIGN!*

Okay, I cannot cry over spilled milk! It is nearly midnight, so I guess I should forget about this and go to bed.If I saw that today, all I had to do was do the audio editing and it would have been ready.It has definitely been one of those days for me and not very productive!!!!!Im a bit superstitious so, as long as all of these happened before midnight on Sunday, I do believe Monday and the other days of this week will be nice and very productive!(Jokes-Im not superstitious - but I will spit 7 times when a black cat runs across infront of me, just in case ....).

Ask for HELP! I have just lost some of my favourite pictures!I cannot believe I have allowed this to happen. I had some precious pictures on my cell phone.And I thought, I will have to upload them to my computer since if my phone get lost one day, I will not lose my pictures. I have also received an external hard drive from my husband as a gift. So, I was uploading lots and lots of cards from my PC to my external hard drive. Then the last thing I was doing was uploading the pics from my cell phone to my PC....but I wasn't sure how to do that. After I have plugged in everthing necessary, all I had to do was ask for help.My husband was right there but I thought, I could do it without messing up.

Pffff! I right clicked and chose shortcut to desktop. Then right after I have done that, I deleted ALL the pics on my cell phone!!When it prompted me whether I was sure to delete them, I still could ask my husband...But no,I decided to go ahead and follow my instinct(if you can call that instinct) and I pressed 'Delete permanently'!!!When they have been deleted, I tried to open the shortcuts...and surprise! They cannot be opened. I started to panick and told my husband I need help, desperately and he should try and recover my pics. It took him half an hour to make me undertand that he cannot restore pics I have deleted permanently...I think I got it but refused to accept it!

So anyway, all the pics are gone.ALL of them. There are a few pictures I took on the spur of the moment, beautiful pictures which I do not think I will ever capture again.How frustrating is that!

I am also in the process of applying for a duplicate of my degree certificate.Okay okay, I know you will think, wot the hell is wrong with this woman! I didn't lose it!I sent it off to a company who claimed to have posted it back to me, but I have never received it. And it is taking a long time since the Uni I went to is not in the UK....I tried to get some help months ago but I don't think the person I was talking to took me seriously.Now my friend from SA is helping me and has already forwarded the necessary form of application.A pain but I have learnt my lesson, the hard way, but hey, I have learnt never ever to send the original document to anyone, right?!

And, I am torn between making a decision regarding my job right now. There is a position in my department , which is more responsibility and more money, but I do not feel passionate about it.And I really do not know whether I should apply for it or not...I am tempted to apply just to see what it is like to manage....but at the same time, I do not feel I have enough experience to even apply for it.So, I do not know what to do.I hate when I have to take decisions where I honestly do not know what to do.Most of the times I back off instead of taking the chance. Anyway, whatever is meant to happen will happen.

Lastly, sometimes, in life, you will meet people who will blame you for things that is going wrong in their lives....My advise to you is: Be positive and as long as you know, you cannot be the reason for the things that are going wrong in their lives, as long as your conscience is clear, you will be okay.And also, sometimes, in life, you will meet up with people who will hurt your feelings, take it with a pinch of salt as , at the end of the day, it is the diversity in human nature that makes the world goes round.

Anyway, I have talked a lot today....Oh, I forgot to mention, I have made a video about two weeks ago and I had to edit it and audio tape my tutorial...And when I was looking for the video today, I couldn't find it - as I didn't save it! You can see that nothing is going right for me..but I just hope its just one of those days and that my week ahead will be lovely.So I am going to edit the video a bit more before I go to bed. I am including a picture of the final project...but you will have to come back soon as I will put the video tutorial on how to make this card...

I am going to post the video here again...The reason I didn't post any pics was because, I normally edit the pics in PSP , adding watermark and adjusting the colour(ever so slightly).But I didn't get the chance to do this lately.I guess I will try to edit the pics first then upload any video which goes hand in hand with the pic of the final project.

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all keeping well and unlike me, are having a ball of a time. I normally like the festive season, it gets busy, and I like the hussle and bustle on the road. Normally I like peace and quiet but around this time of the year,I do get excited with all the lights decoration, christmas trees are up, decorative window shops. I do not celebrate christmas but I like the rush of this time of the year. Friends at work will talk about their last minute shopping, their lists of gifts, holiday preparations...*sign*!

I am recuperating from my FLU. Talking about flu, could I just say, some people do not know the difference between a cold and a flu.There is a big difference!If you have a cold, you can still get up from bed and get on with your life, in between wiping your runny nose, or a cough here and there, and maybe a slight temperature. But if you have the flu, you CANNOT get up from bed as your whole body is sore, you have a headache(the pounding one, the one when you move your head, you feel as though your whole brain and eye balls are moving together with ur head),you have a high temperature, and you get sick,in other words, you vomit!Food will be the last thing on your mind - you cannot get on with your life. All you would want to do is lie down, and you feel very light headed and you will avoid talking.You would want to sleep it off and everytime you cough, you feel as though your chest is collapsing, your head is exploding and you wished the word cough never existed.

Now this is what I am talking about - Nasty huh? Well, tell me about it! I am talking about this because someone said to me, you are having a cold, and a cold is not classified as being sick.I replied, I dont have a cold, Ive got flu! He said, well, cold....flu...what the heck! IT's the same thing. Well hell no! it is not! I will not go and wish people who do not know wot I am talking about to experience it, but, do your homework before you talk.Innit!

I've had a moan and I am sorry.I did promise I will not moan on my blog, didn't I! But hey, sometimes I need to vent out and anyway, I don't think many people read my blog....so I am safe:))Except for a few regular girl friends!Thanks girlies....and just know I do appreciate your effort to visit my blog, I seriously do!Maybe I do not show enough how grateful I am.But guess wot, there is a blog candy coming up soon. I was supposed to do this ages ago when I hit the 10.000 posts, but I missed it.So it will be a late blog candy....coming up in the next week. Last but not least, my two girlies , you know who you are......I am sorry for not keeping up to my word but this week is the week I will go to the post office.(not me, my sister - she doesn't read my blog so she will not know I have already decided she is going to the PO for me - LOL! how fun is that!you see why your family should never read your blog - mine doesn't!)

Okay enough chat- let's talk about serious stuffs. Everytime I post a video, I do not put up pictures of the final project, how rude is that?!!I guess it is always very nice to have some piccies up.I am going to post some pictures and the video for it will be just couple of posts down.Arrgh!I might put up the video again...Anyway, Painshop Pro is a great tool for adding watermark.Hope you like these cards and your comments are always appreciated:)

~Hey !
Im feeling so much better.Water tastes like water, again!:) It has been a rough patch lately for me. Even my tastebud was gone...as in completely gone.My water tasted like...(****).I told a friend about it and he laughed at me, so I will not mention again what it tasted like.But I think it tasted like metal. My toast was bitter and I had no energy to get up from bed. The fever has made my skin very sore(I think it must be the fever).The skin tone has changed as well and all in all, I hated everything around me.

The day I realised I could actually drink something and not puke was the day I was like: I am alive!!As otherwise I didn't even feel alive.

Anyway, I want to forget this bad episode and move on. However I have taken the decision to have a flu jab.I have heard many stories about flu jab but all I want is to steer clear of the flu. I have been sick a few times this year, and it happens mostly during seasonal transition and each time I have experienced a different type of flu each and every time.I want this to stop.And I have tried to take all the precautions possible beforehand, like keeping warm, vitamin c, drink plenty of fluids, ect....so now I think the last thing I should do is the Flu Jab.Hope it helps me.

Anyway, I hope that you are all keeping welll, ready for the holiday season, ready for Christmas and all these Secret Santas.Above all, I hope you have all your xmas cards ready to go.I have been really behind with mine but , hey, I am too happy to be healthy right now to even worry that I haven't made enough xmas cards!So, Merry Xmas everyone...

Hi peeps,
just to let you all know im not very well.Ive come down with a nasty virus passed onto me by my generous husband!(I looked after him and caught it).
It is an amalgamation of migraine,fever,cough and vomitting anything I am eating.I came home from work on Friday and I only managed to pop by here to say I will reply to emails and queries later...I have some queries on SCS..please bear with me.I do not know when this nasty thing will let go of me...I have projects and videos on hold because I cant bear to be on the pc , the light gets to me and trying to read itself is a task, nothing makes sense really.

Heyyyy there!

I managed to create my header, phew!!That was hard work just because I am still learning how to use PSP and also, using html is so so so hard- I mean ,I do not use this everyday and I am only learning to twist things by reading from other people's blog how they did theirs.However, if you do one mistake, that's it, everything is gone.Anyway,I think I know now how everything works and it's not that complicated..so if you need a help, let me know I can try and help.I love my heading, at least it shows my cards, it shows what I like, and how about the polka dot bow, so cuuuuuute!Paint shop pro is a great program.

Time flies! I had a fantastic time with Lucia the other day and we went to The Royal Academy of Arts. Here are some pics as promised.It was just Amazing.

The weather is very gloomy today and I intend to indulge in.... (no, not cardmaking), housechores!There is one thing Ive been putting off doing and by now, it is out of control, it is my scarves section in my wardrobe, since I wear a headscarf, I have hundreds of them....I just do not know what I have anymore.I don't even know why I still have some of them anyway! I MUST sort them out because this week, I had only been able to wear only black ones since my colouful ones are all very creased up as I just shoved them in my wardrobe making sure they do not fall everytime I open the door!!!!Yup, pretty messy huh!
Then I have got laundry to do,since the weather is so very gloomy, ive got to go to the dryer.Then I have got cooking, then Ive got at least one hour Gym .....

I do intend to do some projects for my cardmaking club at work next week...pfff!Will I get there today? we will see....

Hi everyone!
It's been a while! I have been very very busy- no, extremely busy.And I am so glad and relieved to say that one of my major issues has been solved.

I would also like to thank everyone who has subscribed to my youtube videos and take a time to leave a comment.I do really appreicate it. When you tell me about the sound is not good, the video quality is not that good..I do take on board and will see how I can improve.I do not mind constructive criticism, so keep them coming.

I am really excited as I am meeting up with Lucia who I haven't seen for such a long time....I cannot tell you now where I am going because it is a surprise!:)LOL...but when I come back , I might put some pictures up.

First of all, Thanks a lot Cazzy for your Eid Wish!!!Thanks, it means a lot to me.Yes I had a fantastic Eid.I had a fantastic 'Ramadan' as well...:)LAzykay, I haven't done the workshop yet and I am hoping it will be on the first of November and Jay I do wish you could come too .KEvin, it was so sweet of you to reply to me. I just didn't have the time to update my blog or do anything at all to showcase.I've been really busy and I am very sorry.

And I have cazzy's and lazykay's parcels sitting on my shelf since , I dont even know when!!I better do something about them coz im sure they are even collecting dusts now.

Hopefully I am back on track for a while now.

I was very sad to step down from Papercraft Junkies as a Design Team member:(Oh yes, I am not part of the DT anymore....IT was because of everything that was going on in my life that I had to step down....IT is a shame because , I wished I didn't!I miss the buzz of having to create projects, meeting deadlines.

Well, I hope you are all keeping well.I am not too bad- and even though things are a bit calmer my sides, there are still a lot to come in the next few months..As far as crafting is concerned, watch this space as I will be uploading some projets hopefully soon...I hope to make some more videos too.Its just that, I am trying to sort a few things out in my personal life and career as well.

How are you all keeping? Good I hope.One of my friends, someone who has support me a lot throughout my video editing experience, told me I am not promoting my blog enough...:)So, now I have decided to promote it and I am still thinking of ways to do that. Mixed Media Painting

Hey peeps! I've done another video but this time, its not a cardmaking one! It is a painting one - I hope that you will still want to watch it.

This time, Ive had a hard time to edit and upload it.After each upload, something went wrong with it.And at one stage I thought maybe I will leave this and come back to it next week or something. Then , a miracle happened, it was uploaded within half an hour and then it didn't take long to be uploaded in youtube, maybe another hour or so(which is pretty good).

But I stopped moaning about it when Gary Reef(capricornArtist 73), the one artist who really inspired me to do this painting, commented on my painting himself.Check his work out on You Tube, he is so so talented. Im in love with all his paintings, and what I like about his work, is the Freedom of speech, in the Art world. Art from the Heart he says and yeah, this is what I like.If you look at one of his work, you will not leave without looking at another one - SO, make sure all your work is done, kicked your shoes off, feet up, have a cuppa and sit down and be ready to go on a fascinating journey!! When I saw his comment, I was like:Oh My God! You should have seen my face...Then I thought, it was worth all the pain!!lol.

Anyway, here we go. Enjoy.I have included some bloomers too...so you can have an idea of who I am really!!(even though I did pick some other bloomers but with all my editing and what not, these ones stayed and the other ones got deleted - but never mind! and yeah you can laugh at me as I can laugh at myself).

This is how small this mini book is, it sits on my Versamark inkpad and still looks tiny compared to it.I have made this book using the accordeon style as the spine.I did do a photo tutorial but for some reasons I just cannot find it - If I do I will put it up. This is perfect to hold some small pictures and make a cute little gift. It can also be made into a keyring holder. I have used Creative Tone Border Pack -Ivory Black by Papermania. It has some lovely designs in this pack.

Cardmaking and Papercraft Free stamp

Hey there!
I have used my Free stamp from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine to make this fairy card. I have used Distress ink in red to colour the image in, and Distres ink in brown as well for the body. The dots and sentiment is from ' Polka Dots and Paisley' from Stampin Up. Finished off with Gros grain ribbon from SU as well - loving ribbons at the minute.Hope you like it!

Hey crafters!!I am going to be very honest and admit, I don't even like this card.I made this card couple weeks ago and today when I saw that , I was like, what is this? Why did I even make something like this? I have even tried faux stitching! Hey everyone!I am so so sorry, I didn't realise I had couple of emails/queries regarding my video post...I have been very busy lately and didn't really check my email which is attached to my blog and anyway...I will do more videos hopefully soon but remember it is a learning process for me, so,I am still struggling with the uploading bit. It's kind of a hit and miss at the moment. And regarding special request about a talking tutorial video....well...I never thought about it:) Do you really want me to talk you through a tutorial? Don't you like my little notes in my videos then? Well, I will think about it. I have a very strong accent and you might not even understand what I am saying, but, I will think and if I will do one, then you will see one - obviously!
But thanks for all your sweet comments - It means a lot to me:))I love doing these short video clips though it takes time and can be a bit stressful at times...I know that there might come a time where I will not find the time for blogging or making these videos so I want to make the most out of it.
Thanks for all your encouragement. And yeah, the chipboard were precut and you can get them almost everywhere now in a good craft store eventhough I cannot remember where I got mine from..sorry!

Holidays - At last!

I am on holidays as from now on....Feeling absolutely tired and we were all stunned at work that we have managed to pack everything, so that they could be moved to our new school site for next academic year, which is in August.Everyone is tired, and some are even leaving today itself for a holiday - lucky people!
Today, Im feeling as though I do not want to do anything at all - Can't be bothered at all. I just want to relax with a book - did I say book? Nah, not even a book!My eyes are tired, I need to rest them.Im feeling a bit overwhelmed.I think I still cannot believe what has been going on at work this week with the packing, moving and everything else.It is a lot to take in. And now that its done and over with, I still feel on the edge.It will take me at least 2 days to unwind completely I guess.

Anyway, You might see more of me in the next couple of weeks.I would like to go away for a week end in the countryside or something.

Just a quick note as I am so annoyed.I left my email address in my last post as I wanted some help with video editing. But my email was showered with spam messages...and I know it has been like this since I had my email up here...Why? why do people do that?! so so annoying!!!I am so angry.Please, do not abuse information found on my blog to send me those horrible messages....I even had one where someone will definitely kill me if I dont send my bank details, I mean, what kind of people do things like this?

Hi there! I have finally managed to upload this video...I have been struggling with this one as first and foremost, it was over 17 mins, I mean, What was I thinking? I didn't know it has to be 10 mins max on to be downloaded on Youtube. I have tried to download it here on blogger, but couldn't do it. I didn't really want to put it on youtube but well,I guess I have no choice.

Anyway, finding a song to go with it was another story as I couldnt download the songs I want from Imesh to be played on movie maker program...All in all, it was such a headache that I want to do another one soon, to try and solve all the problems I've had.If any of you out there are familiar with uploading videos using movie maker, and downloading songs, please please please, email me.Leave me a comment and a link to your blog, I will get back to you. I did put my email here but the minute I did so,my email was flooded with spam emails....so annoying!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video. I have fast forward this one much faster as I had to make it shorter...Sorry about that!Give me any constructive feedback as I would like to improve on my videos.Thank you!

Mini Cards for School Leavers

I was asked to make some cards for the school leavers this year. They are friends at work , teachers who want to give these to their form group and I was given enough time to do them so I thought yeah why not. I made these weeks ago now.

Because I had to make about 60 I opted for a quick option , which is nevertheless effective.I decided to use Big shot to cut out some designs. I had butterflies, sunflowers and daisies. My friends love them...I printed the names and cut them out and mounted them on patterned paper to match the die cut shape.

Ane because I believe in making something pretty, even more prettier, I decided to package them before giving them to my friends. I didn't want to hide them in gift wrap, so I decided to use pink ribbon to tie them up and also, put them in clear cello bags...I fell in love with Cello bags.
What do you think?:)
The small hearts are the cut offs when I was die cutting the butterflies, so I threw them in the bags and they look like confetti! Now why do I miss my school days??

My friends at work were impressed and they didn't know how to thank me. I got a big box of choccies and gift voucher from Next....and money!I think they are mad!

How sweet of you

I have used Great impression stamp(the flower one- not sure what it's called), some DCWV cards,pink ribbon and 'how sweet of you' sentiment from the sweet treats set by Flourishes.

This time I wanted to try layering with the stamped image. I also wanted a clean cut ,simple and cute card.

As you can see, I have stamped the images a few times and then I cut them out in such a way, I had seperated them from the original design so I can layer them. So , I stamped on the green card, then on the white card, then four times on the pink card. Then I cut them out and layered them with 3d sticky foam pad.Then I stick down my green card onto my pink card, trim to required size and stick down to my main greeting card.

I have then used my corner rounder punch to punched the scalloped edge in a strip of green card and I tied a pink ribbon , with a bow around it, then I glued this down to the bottom of my card. I finished off with the How sweet of you sentiment.

This is a card I have made using the following: Great impression stamp(the flowery one-not sure what its called though), Hugs to you by Hero Arts, Carl corner punch, and watercolour pencils. I found this flower stamp to be quite unique and challenging. It looks simple but the minute I saw it I knew, I could do much more with it than just a stamped image.

So, I have decided to try rotating the image but, to my big surprise, even though the four middle corners meet to give a repeated image, however, the main flower in the picture doesn't give a mirror image. I do not understand why!If I didn't try this out, I would somehow think it would give a mirror image...but come to think of it now, the whole point of rotating it is to have a continuous rotating image and surely not mirror image!!(excuse my conception of rotation- I do not like maths). Anyway, if the image is found at the corner then it gives a mirror image.Does that make sense?Oh well, never mind!

I have stamped the images four times, coloured them in and used a water brush to slightly go over the colour. Then I cut them out and placed them on a piece of orange card and decide on the size of my orange card . I stamped the hugs to you message four times around the square along the edge of the orange card. I punched out the corners. I then placed some 3D sticky foam under the four squares and stick them down to give a raised effect. I used some double sided tape to secure the orange card onto my greeting card. I think, I do not need any more embellishemnt to go with it.

I think its high time we get some colour coordinated sticky foam pad, don't you think so??

Scrap-a-Paris

This is a project I made in February...I think I put off uploading them since there are so many pics to compress and crop and what not!!!I feel more tired uploading them than doing them. Actually it was a really cool project and my sister agreed to give me her pictures when she went on holiday to Paris with her husband. I saw that project on tvweekly and it was a project called 'pocket book' by Jami Patersen. She has used a card kit which I do not have. So I had to think about which papers to use, which stickers , and work out all the measurements again, to accomodate with what I have.

So, here are some patterned papers (DCWV christmas glitter stack), some images of Eiffel Tower on acetate which I bought from Craftyindividuals , Ki memories stickers and Three bugs in a rug (chit chat stickers)

This is my planning. I downloaded the step by step guide for the pocket book.You can do that on their website. Then I cut them out and pasted them in my sketch book as this is the easiest way for me to work out my measurements. I hate having to go back and forth on my PC when Im sitting down ready to work. Anything that distracts me will become a major distraction! This is who I am! So, on the next page , I have worked out that my photographs are much bigger than those she used, so my notecards will be A5( A4 folded in half). A4 size is 210mmx297mm and A5 is 148mmx210mm. Then my inserts will be 110x200mm or 11x21cm. My photos are at least 10x13cm~(4inchx5.2inch).This is the largest size I will crop my pictures.Basically, each notecard will be A5 size, then there will be an insert going inside it.

Once I have got all my measurements sorted, I now have to count my photos, then choose how many notecards, envelopes, vellum envelopes I will make. I have 55 photos!!!!
Each notecard will hold one photo or 2 on top and 1 on the insert.So I have 16 notecards, 16 envelopes and 5 vellum envelope.

Colours of notecards: Red, black and white vellum
Patterned papers: Red and black are my predominant colours
It might sound confusing but if you have a look at what Jami did then you will be able to understand the whole process much better.
Sorry for the poor quality of these pics, don't ask me why it happened!

These are all my papers cut to size...Notecards , inserts, vellum.

These are DCWV christmas patterned papers...They are so pretty and I had loads of them. So I thought why not use them since they fit the bill!These papers will be used to mat and layer my notecards and inserts.

I took all my A4 size paper and score them on my ultimate score board, using the half fold A4 line which will allow me to fold them exactly into half.

Then I used my vellum A4 sheet and score them along the first line which is normally used to crease a line for when you are making boxes.(the box base line).I scored along the right , left and bottom;so three scored lines.

Then I've creased them with my bone folder, and cut out the square piece at the corners. See below and yes I know my cutting board needs a scrub but you know wot, I like it like this....I am an old fashioned girl!

I am not sure you can see this properly, but I have cut out a semi circle in the middle of the top end side of the vellum. Then I have glued it onto a card to make it into an envelope. I have given the sizes above.

To make the notecard, after I scored down the middle half line on the card, I've applied some glue on the edge of the card to form an L shape, in reverse and then I glued down the two sides of the card together. The top part is open which turns it into a pocket where the insert will go later.

Then I've stamped some swirl images with clear embossing ink, covered it with some black glittery powder and heat embossed it.

This is the front of my first note card.

Okay, now, if you look carefully, you will see, I have glued down a piece of patterned paper on the right hand side which will cover about three quarter of the front side of the notecard. Then I cut out my photograph, and stick this down on the patterned paper, add a cute sticker and the word paris has been printed off the computer and chalked with red.

Then next is the vellum envelope. I used a sheet of dotty card as the base and stuck down my acetate image, then the photograph and inserted it in the vellum envelope.

This is a closer view...and yeah, by the way, this is my sister:)

Then I kept on decorating as I wished and just let my idea lead the way really.... I used stickers as tabs..

This is what I meant by inserts!

As you can see, you can also, put it up on display...quite nice isn't!

Oh I forgot to say, that before sticking things down, I punched some holes on the left side and used some key rings to secure them together.

Hello there!

I'm finally back and as you can see, fully recovered, I have been busy too!:)I have one week break before I to back to work, which is such a blessing! I have been so tired recently that Friday evening, when I came home from the trip, I didn't want to talk or do anything. All I wanted to do was lie down and stare at the ceiling! I have managed to reach a personal target that Friday and since I knew I am on holiday, I wanted to stay still and hoped time will stop, everything will come to a standstill. So I could just be, and let the emptiness and silence around me be.

Regarding the new look on my blog, believe me when I say, it takes ages to work on the html and change the header picture, resize it, add some background images....I have been wanting to do this since ages, and couldn't manage to do it, I read again and again about 'how to' on the dashboard but to no avail. Then I came across this link on Stamping Mathilda's blog HERE, and I knew I could do this! Her blog is amazing, her works are just breathtaking...I couldn't help from not reading each and every single thing on her blog, a true inspiration. If you haven't visited her yet, then I reckon you do it right now..it's worth it.

Anyway, her instructions are really clear. But if you are not familiar with html, then it seems a bit hard and if you forget a simple thing like this: {;}, everything goes wrong!!But I took the chance and I followed her instructions and I had a few hiccups because I think it depends which template you are using. So if you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact me and I will try to help the best I can.

Now, I will upload a project I made ages ago, that was I think back in February!Then I have two more cards to show you...Will do so in a minute as I'm off to do something right now!

Feeling poorly:(

Hello there!

This is just to let you all know I will not be posting anything anytime soon...I am so sorry about that.I am not feeling too good. I have already got a few emails asking me where I am....and guess what, there is nothing that makes me happier to know that I am being missed! I know I haven't done many things lately and I do intend to catch up pretty soon. But unfortunately, right now, I need to rest....I have been through so much over the past months that I wonder what is in store for me next! 'sign'...On a lighter note, I am breaking up from school this Friday, which means I will be on holidays soon.If I have sorted meself by that time, then I am pretty sure I will be able to post some cute stuffs soon.

Altered coaster -Quick and Easy project

Hi there, it's me again! I have made this project a few weeks ago and I have finally managed to show them. I found this project on Chicn Scratch video on youtube. She calls it post-it note holder and she has been my source of inspiration. Visit her videos for more ideas as she is really creative and her videos are just fantastic.

Okay, first of all , you will need some designer papers of your choice, modpodge(as I found them to be the best for this project) but you can use PVA or double sided tape if you prefer, corner rounder punch and paper clip.

Put your coaster on your designer paper and trace around it twice. Decide if you want to use the same pattern on both sides or not. Next, smear generously some mod podge with a paintbrush.

Then stick down your patterned paper smoothing them out and wiping off any glue oozing out at the sides with a tissue.

Then sand the edges with a sanding block, but when you do so, make sure you sand in one direction, in a downward movement. Do not rock back and forth as this will have a tendency to remove the paper or even tear it. Sanding down will give it the desired smooth finish and will almost blend the paper layer with the coaster together.

Then, stick down patterned paper on your paper clip.

Take a post it note and seperate them , maybe in three's. Then take one of them and stick it onto the coaster and hold with paper clip.

This makes a cute little personalised gift....I like pretty things so if I have this on my desk at work, then I will be writing many many notes...I need to remember stuffs , you know!
