Good news!

I have a very good news to share.....I got these two fantastic background papers from Crafty Individuals to play with. They were totally free. Let me tell you how it happened...I wrote to crafty individuals to ask them if I can use their images on my cards and sell my cards ect....And I have my blog add as my signature. So Crafty individuals looked at my blogs and liked what they saw. They liked the way I have used their stamps too so I was given this freebie to have a play.

Thank you Malcolm!

I had some fantastic freebies from Tanda Stamps too. I placed an order with them and to my great surprise, I got a few stamps, totally free , and I had my eyes on those stamps too!:))

Is it my lucky day today? Oh well, wish everyday is a lucky day then:)

Im really excited about something else which I cannot tell you now right now as it is under progress. When it will be ready, I will share it will you thats for sure...I wonder if I will be able to keep the secret for long though... We'll see...:))

PCJ Challenge 2

Stampbord

This is my first go at stampbord and this is so much fun!!The surface is such a smooth one, and I have inked it using dark plue and light purple, let it dry.I started to stamp some flowers and did some scratching as well but decided I didnt like the outcome, I took some baby wipes and wiped everything out. And started all over again. Then stamped it with a gorgeous stamp from crafty individuals using black brilliance ink. Thats why on the left side, you might see some lines here and there which are there because of the initial attempt. And then the fun began, I started to use the scratching tool to highlight areas and to even make lines, crossed lines....I sponged over with some red ink and the result is this. I love it!If I can, I will put down a step by step for this one too...

Hugs to you

I had these stamps since a while now, which are called Flourishes Set 1 from Tanda Stamps . This is lovely set and I wanted so much to do a few techniques with them but I have managed to so only this one so far. I have stamped onto transparent vellum using white versma colour ink pad.The butterfly is a stamp from clever cut .I have stamped some flourishes images again onto pink vellum this time. Then I have cut out some flowers from the pink vellum and I have attached them onto the transparent vellum using white brads while making sure they match the one underneath. I used my fiskars cutting shape to do the scallop edge and glued everything down onto pink card. Next I have cut the edge of the card and some dotty paper from DCWV spring stack to get a scallop edge. I mount the dotty paper and align it to the edge of the card, then mount the stamped images on top. I finished off gluing down some satin pink ribbon and stamped 'Hugs to you' from Hero Arts set.

I just love these stamps.I think they can be used for many occasions....watch out this space as I will be doing some more with them.....how about heat embossed them??

Inchies as embellishment...

I've heard about the word 'Inchies' but couldnt work my head around it.How could someone possibly work on such a small surface, I wondered?! I know that ATCs are small too but at least they are big enough to add a few bits and pieces. Anyway I got some inchies and was trying to figure out how to use it, what to make of it.

For a first time I wanted to use them as a frame or something. I started by painting four of them using Reeves acrylic paint in yellow as shown in step 1. Let it dry for a few minutes. It wont take long as acrylic paints dry very fast. Then I've inked up one of my favourite stamps by Crafty individuals (CI - 113) with brilliance black ink and stamped the four squares by putting them together as shown in step 2.

Step 1:

Step 2:

This is a closed up view of the inked inchies....you can see that the surface is not very smooth as I intentionally left the marks of the brushstrokes while painting it.

Then I have used whispers brush markers to colour in the flowers as shown in step 3.

Step 3:

And finally I decided I wanted a smooth finish afterall....So I decided to use amazing glace to emboss them. I first inked them with clear embossing ink, then sprinkled with amazing glaze, tapped off the excess and heat emboss with a heat gun.

Step 4:

Step 5:

I was quite pleased with the result, and I thought I would use it as an embellishment on a card.

I have first used the same stamp and inked the background of my card with versamark. I then chalked over it using yellow , red and orange colour. I have inserted some eyelets in the inchies and thread through black satin ribbon to interlink the inchies. I mounted the inchies on a piece of orange colour card to make the blackc ribbon stand out, then mounted this onto black card which has been finally mounted onto the same orange colour card. I stamped with black brilliance ink part of the same stamp, colour it in with whispers brush markers and cut it into a square which has been mounted onto orange card, then black card. I then glued down the same satin ribbon to run across the card, glued down my inchies embellishment and the stamped image.I finished off with a good luck peel offs. And the result is this:

I have had so much fun that I decided to try another technique with the inchies. I wanted to try to embed some elements with amazing glaze, so I decided to have a go with the inchies.

Step 1:

I have prepared the inchies as mentioned above by painting with acrylic paints but this time I have used yellow first and then dabbed some orange into it using sponge. Let them dry and then cut out a piece of natural dried flower and glued it down with some PVA glue.

I let this dry for a few minutes, then inked it with clear embossing ink, and sprinkled generously with amazing glaze. I have used my tray as you can see:)

Step 2:

Heat set the amazing glaze using a heat gun. Do protect your work surfacec as the amazing glaze powder tends to scatter around.

Step 3:

Keep on heating until the powder melts.

Step 4:

It will look like this when the powder has melted.

Here are a few examples I have done using die cut flowers as well. I just love this technique as well!

Quick wedding card

My friend, the same one who has asked me to make a baby card, asked me to make a congratulations card for her brother who got married.I was asked to do them on a Friday afternoon, to be picked up the next morning. So I woke up on Saturday morning and did it, but given the fact I was short on time, I am quite pleased with it, I just hope my friend liked it too!I have used cuttlebug swirl embossing folder, and Anita's peel offs. The gift image is actually the negative of a peel off image, I have used masking tape to pick it off and rubbed it back on a piece of card. Well, I surely didnt invent this but I cannot remeber where I have learnt this for the first time, maybe cardmaking and papercraft magazine under the tip section or the do crafts website!!!Anyway, its a great tip!
The congratulations word is from a wording set from Tanda stamps.

I have done an insert with an A4 paper folded into half, then punched the border with the fiskars border punch and stamped some words from the See D's stamp set(words).

Oh..I've managed to whip up an envelope as well!

Baby girl

My friend asked me to do a baby girl card for her sister's daughter. This has been my first baby card. And luckily it was for a girl as I dont have anything blue for baby boy at the moment!

Love to you....

I have made this card as I wanted to use some acetate to create layers and at the same time allow the possibility of moving the layer. So i came up with this card using paper artsy stamp.I like this stamp as its partly vintage partly modern.

Maze Book

I found this maze book from the http://www.crafttvweekly.com/ website and fell in love with it. I think Tricia Morris is a fantastic instructor as her instructions are so clear and straightforward that it took me couple of minutes to do the maze book. I have decided to use the theme LOVE and make it into a mini scrapbook/album type where photos can be inluded inside the pockets on little tags and love messages can be included in the little album.

I am still working on this, but you can have a look at what I have done so far....I hope you like it!

I had some heavy card which I have used as covers, and I have used some DCWV paper to cover them.

This is how it looks when opened...

Here I have used some banafrog swirl stamps, black embossing powders, see d's stamps.

Here, the little frog is from Penny Black, I abosolutely love this stamp though my sister doesn't!!

I have dared some hand doodling with white and silver gel pen.

Hero Arts stamp to spell the word celebrate the everyday and the gift box is from see d's stamp set(wedding one), and the border is from the same see d's set.I have embossed the border with silver embossing powder.
